Every year, Oakvilles holds the largest community event of the year, the Oakville Family Ribfest, hosted at the Sheridan Campus. As the 6th year in its running, The Rotary Club came to Espress Labs to help re-invigorate their branding as part of the celebration for Canada’s 150th birthday.
100% of the proceeds raised went to charities affiliated with the Rotary Club, so it was important that this Ribfest gained as much attention as possible through print, web & social avenues. Leading the design, my role in the project was to re-brand and create a social campaign that would drive traffic to the newly created website.

To gain traction and become the largest Oakville Ribfest to date, it was important to create a brand that would be consistent and drive the theme across all media avenues.

Creating a destination for the hungry community
By creating a responsive website for hungry ribbers, we were able to redirect our traffic online where they can find out more information about the event, sign up to volunteer, view the weekend schedule, etc. It was important that we were always leading the consumer to the website from developed social & print media.
Community driven marketing

As Oakville’s largest community event, social quickly became an integral part of the overall campaign and greatly helped drive buzz that garnered an extremely well turn-out for the event. The 2017 Oakville Ribfest quickly became the most successful year for them since they starting hosting the event.
